Inclusive Residential Housing
The TPSID grant is committed to the philosophy that the true college experience includes the option of an inclusive residential experience in which all students are allowed to live on campus. This on-campus residential experience serves to facilitate independent living skills, and to promote positive relationships among students with or without disabilities.
The TPSID grant has provided for a graduate assistant who lived in the residential community and supported students as needed with time management, organizational skills, self-advocacy, and independent living skills.
Funds from the TPSID grant allowed for an onsite learning center within the residential community so that students have access to computers and other essential resources in their on-campus "home". TPSID grant has also supported independent living skills by supplying essential materials needed for everyday skill development.
